Note: Not all signs and symptoms are present in every patient with Acromegaly. Their presence may be determined by duration of disease.

Head
• Enlargement of ears, nose, tongue (with furrowing), lips
• Coarsening of facial features
• Bony overgrowth of forehead (frontal bossing)
• Protrusion of jaw (prognathism)
• Widening of spaces between teeth
• Underbite (malocclusion)
• Impairment of peripheral vision
• Headaches
• Stroke
Sleep apnea
• Snoring

Neck
• Thyroid enlargement (thyromegaly/goiter)
• Voice changes (deepens, hoarseness)
• Hyperthyroidism
• Parathyroid enlargement

Chest
• Heart enlargement (cardiomegaly)/heart failure/arrhythmias
• Breast milk secretion in men and women (galactorrhea)
• Ribs thicken (barrel chest)

Abdomen
• Liver, spleen, kidney, pancreas enlargement
• Colon enlargement, colon cancer, polyps
• Kidney stones

Extremities
• Enlargement of hands and fingers (broad and spade-like), feet and toes
• Carpal tunnel syndrome
• Thickened heel pads
• Cartilage overgrowth/Osteoarthritis
• Joint pains

Skin
• Thickened
• Darkening
• Increase in coarse body hair
• Enlargement of sweat and sebaceous glands
• Excess sweating (with body odor)
• Oily
Skin tags

Metabolic/Hormonal Changes
• Impaired glucose tolerance
• Insulin resistance
Diabetes Mellitus
Hypertriglyceridemia
Hypercalciuria
• Low rennin
• Increased aldosterone
• +/- Thyroid hormone excess

• Irregular/absent menstruation (Oligo/Amennorrhea) in women

• Numbness due to nerve compression
• Hypertension
• In children- increase in height, delayed puberty
