The Division of General Internal Medicine offers a two-year Medical Critical Care fellowship program that qualifies graduates for the Critical Care Certifying Board examination. Our program is closely aligned with the three-year Pulmonary/Critical Care fellowship and offers formally structured clinical rotations in intensive care units at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center- (CSMC), an internationally renowned, 900-bed, community-based teaching hospital, the West Los Angeles Healthcare Center- the primary and tertiary teaching hospital for the VA Greater Los Angeles Healthcare System, and the Valley Care Olive View-UCLA Medical Center- a 377-bed county teaching hospital. This comprehensive combination of complimentary medical centers affords an extremely broad experience caring for a wide variety of critically ill patients in different health delivery systems. Beyond the structured intensive care unit rotations, the program also affords flexibility in accommodating special interests of the fellows. This includes opportunities to develop proceduralist skills and to pursue medical research.
